Working for the Aviation Industry

Thank author of this post/comment

While looking at an uncle's Facebook profile, I learned that he has actually gone to Brisbane a couple of weeks for some sort of training in his company. If I'm not mistaken he currently works at Lufthansa (or was it Qantas?) as in-charge of airplane maintenance. He has been in the industry for a very long time--ever since he got off from college, I think.

In his career he has already managed to go to a lot of places, but the only ones that I know of are Berlin and, this time, Brisbane. A job at the aviation industry is a cool one to have, particularly because of the travel perks that can be received if you stayed long enough there. Aside from the places he had visited, my uncle's family also gets to have discounted airfare tickets anytime and anywhere they want to go to. Talk about traveling while in the middle of work.

On top of the travel perks, there are also the salary packages. Very handsome salary packages, if I may say so. Though I won't say that he's rich, this uncle of mine is relatively well off, thanks to his stint in the industry, which pays well to those employees who decide to stay with it. What I just don't like about the job are the risks that you sometimes incur while you're at it, or the risk that you might post unto others. Being a mechanic for a plane has its responsibilities, but then again, all jobs have responsibilities associated with them.

The first time I flew months ago, I knew that riding airplanes is something that I would like to do. A lot. I won't be surprised if my uncle feels the same way, too. With good pay, travel perks, and the feeling of flying every now and then, I don't see any reason why my uncle would leave his profession any time soon. He's still young and in his 30's, after all.
